Naomi Adams

Naomi.jpg

Originally from Kent, Naomi Adams moved to Surrey following her graduation from Aberystwyth School or Art in 1998 and has been producing and selling her artwork from her Surrey based studio ever since.  Whilst threads of underlying themes are woven throughout her work, Naomi works in many different mediums from photography and pen and ink to watercolours, mixed media and textiles.  Her latest passion is reassembling broken clockwork into mechanical insects.

“My work is predominantly inspired by fairy-tale, folklore and fantasy. the universal themes and hidden truths woven like silk threads between the boundaries of half imagined worlds. I construct my clockwork inanimates from broken timepieces. Fragments of memories caught like insects in tiny tick-tocking talismans. Stories and history intertwined and forgotten. Life momentarily breathed back into time stilled mechanisms with long meandering entomological daydreams of time, beauty, life and loss.”
